The journal aims to serve as a critical platform for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers focusing on tropical areas, particularly in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

JTRSS publishes original research articles, reviews, and case studies related to sustainable agricultural practices and food security, integration of traditional knowledge and modern technologies in natural resource use, environmental conservation and biodiversity management, climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies in tropical ecosystems, renewable energy applications and sustainable rural development, socio-economic aspects of sustainable resource utilization and policies and governance related to tropical environmental management.

JTRSS welcomes submissions that support and advance the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 3: ensure healthy lives and promote well-being; SDG 13: climate change; SDG 14: life below water and SDG: 15 life on land.
